Company 362 – 1966

Great job you are doing! I am an urban designer and planner in Oregon who has been following the progress since the 1997 APA Conference in SanDiego! I was also one of the recruits sent to NTC during the Vietnam years - first to Primary Training and then across the bridge to finish up in the summer of 1966. I believe I have one photo from that period, as others have unfortunately been lost. Our recruit company was one of the first in the history, I believe, to win all the honors in various categories of competition among the companies going through at that time. I was also awarded "outstanding recruit" of my company ... and still don't remember how much sucking-up I had to do to win that honor! I actually had a good time in boot-camp, and haven't admitted that to many people.

We visited over the Thanksgiving weekend, and since we live in Orenco Station - an award-winning light rail station community in Hillsboro, Oregon (and my wife is the builder's sales manager here), our "busman's holidays" always take us to new developments wherever we go. What you've done there, and are continuing to do, is really cool and I await the progress reports.

Wishing you well and a smashing success!

All the best.
