-- Wine Steals To Open Second Location At Liberty Station --
With one location in the Hillcrest area of San Diego, Wine Steals, a local wine bar and retail store, has announced plans to open a second store near the recently re-opened Sail Ho Golf Club at Liberty Station this fall.
Ken Mills, owner of Wine Steals, cited the opportune location as a major factor in the decision to open a store at Liberty Station. “Liberty Station is centrally located to serve the Point Loma and Liberty Station communities and is also very close to downtown,” he said.
The company recently signed a lease for a 3,181-square foot space in a refurbished building within the historic district of Liberty Station. Wine Steals will be occupying the entire building at 2970 Truxtun Road.
“Wine Steals’ European ambiance is perfectly reflected in the existing historical architecture of the building,” explained Mills. “The exposed wood beam ceiling and Spanish architectural details are reminiscent of what one may see in an Italian villa.”
In Wine Steals’ casual atmosphere, visitors can sample new wines from around the world and enjoy cheeses that partner perfectly. With a knowledgeable staff and affordable prices, coinsures will be sure to find something of their liking.
Throughout the week, it offers many opportunities to explore new wines. Monday through Friday, happy hour is from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. and glasses of wine are priced at a steal of only $3. Monday nights are a special cork-free bottle night, which means that any bottle bought and consumed in-house can be enjoyed at the retail price, a discount of $5 or $7 depending on the cost of the bottle. From 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Saturdays, visitors have the opportunity to sample some of the 25 wines carried in the retail store for only $10.
