Beginning redevelopment in 2001, Liberty Station’s growth and activity have made it an attractive locale for commercial businesses such as retailers, fine dinning, grocery and personal services. Having quickly become the hub of the bay, Liberty Station has over 150 acres dedicated to arts & culture, retail, education, fine dinning, office, and hospitality purposes; an additional 125 acres devoted to parks and open space; and another 37 acres for residences. Not to mention three hotels on two sites. Buzzing with activity, Liberty Station anticipates a majority of its build out to be complete by the end of 2008.
Ryan Hoover, Commercial Associate for McMillin Commercial says, “These are exciting times at Liberty Station. New businesses are regularly opening their doors at Liberty Station to find a welcoming community in Point Loma and the surrounding area. With everything that Liberty Station offers—fine dinning, retail, cultural venues, recreation, tons of green space—we are truly creating a world-class destination.”
The 361-acre Liberty Station community, being jointly developed by the City of San Diego Redevelopment Agency and The Corky McMillin Companies, includes 125 acres of parks, open space and a boat channel; shopping villages and restaurants; a 28-acre civic, arts and cultural district; the nine-hole Sail Ho Golf Club; three hotels on two sites; and six schools.
