| Liberty Station’s Highly Successful Free “NTC Nights” Gears Up for Round Two
San Diego, CA, May 15, 2007 – Liberty Station is pleased to announce the “NTC Nights at Liberty Station: Summer of Love” movie series. Following a successful debut in March of “NTC Nights at Liberty Station: A Walk through the Naval Training Center’s Hollywood Past,” Liberty Station is again teaming with the Cinema Society of San Diego to provide free movies under the stars throughout the summer. This series, titled “Summer of Love,” will feature movie romance favorites such as Grease, Shrek and My Big Fat Greek Wedding.
Beginning Saturday, June 23rd, Liberty Station invites the community to join in the fun. Bring blankets, chairs, popcorn and picnic baskets for the six-film event. The free movies will be shown on the lawn at Liberty Station’s South Promenade, on the south side of Roosevelt Road, (between Truxtun Road and Historic Decatur Road) on Saturday evenings, at sundown, approximately 7pm, on June 23, 30; July 7, 14, 21 and 28, 2007. “We had such a successful turnout with the last movie series, hundreds of people showed up for the apparent favorite, Top Gun. We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with Andy Friedenberg and the Cinema Society of San Diego for NTC Nights. Shark Tale (PG): When a son of a gangster shark boss (voice of Robert De Niro) is accidentally killed while on the hunt, his would be prey (voice of Will Smith) and his vegetarian brother (voice of Jack Black) both decide to use the incident to their own advantage. This Oscar-nominated, animated comedy also featured the voices of Angelina Jolie, Renee Zellweger and Martin Scorsese.
